One of Rohit Sharma’s old tweets has resurfaced and gone viral on social media where he addressed Shubman Gill as 'The Future.'

Shubman Gill is enjoying a terrific start to the new year and has already notched up one century and one double century in the four ODIs that he has played thus far. He has scored 415 runs in four ODIs at an exceptional average of 103.75. He also made his T20I debut this year but wasn't able to accomplish much.

Shubman Gill was the man of the hour on Wednesday in Hyderabad. He stayed at the wicket right till the end to make sure that team India reached a big total to defend.

After the match, an old tweet of Rohit Sharma started resurfacing on Twitter where he had called Shubman Gill 'The Future'. It started when Gill wished Rohit happy birthday on Twitter in 2020 by saying that, “Well no one does pull shots better than the #Hitman Happy Birthday! @ImRo45.” The current Indian team skipper replied by saying, “Thanks Future”.

Rohit Sharma and Twitter have a good old history. The case with Suryakumar Yadav is just an example where Rohit praised him on Twitter. He tweeted about Suryakumar in 2011, and we all know what kind of batter Surya is turning out to be.

He had tweeted, “Just got done with the BCCI awards here in chennai..some exciting cricketers coming up..Suryakumar yadav from Mumbai to watch out for in future!”

Rohit backed Suryakumar a lot before the latter made his debut for team India and the latter has himself acknowledged the same several times.
