Shubman Gill has been making headlines one after the other as the youngster is on a roll with his career scoring hundreds for fun in the international circuit.

Shubman Gill is in the form of his life and is getting better in each and every game. No matter the format he is playing, the class, the temperament, and the technique is always there. He is providing India with quick starts and plays an attacking role from the beginning itself. He has also shown the ability to anchor the innings.

After the third ODI against New Zealand in Indore in which Gill notched up yet another century, he was asked on Star Sports to choose between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar.

The Gujarat Titans opener gave a calm and composed answer, “I think Virat Bhai because…Sachin sir is the reason why I started playing cricket because my dad was his huge fan. When he retired, I was too young to understand cricket. By the time I started to understand cricket a little more, I would say Virat bhai because I have learnt a lot from him as a batter.”

He was adjudged the Player of the Series in the recently concluded India-New Zealand ODI series. But not a very long ago there were doubts about his place in India's starting XI in ODIs, but he has put those doubts to bed now after delivering consistent results.

The Indian opener after winning the Player of the Series award said, “It feels nice to perform throughout the series. My approach didn’t change after the double hundred (208 in the first ODI). It’s all about getting a start and converting every game if possible. I try to play according to the situation and conditions, not looking at my score. Our bowlers did a good job and bowled really well on this wicket because at one point it looked like it could go either way.”
