The Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore hosted India and South Africa for the third and final T20I of the series on Tuesday, the 4th of October. The hosts, who took an unassailable lead in the series after winning the opening two fixtures made several changes to the playing eleven. One of those changes, Shreyas Iyer, made an instant impact by running out the dangerous Quinton de Kock in the first innings.

With the series already in the bag, the hosts decided to rest a couple of key batters in KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. Shreyas Iyer was drafted into the team as India went in with a bowling-heavy side in the series finale. Iyer who is renowned for his eye-pleasing strokes in the middle put on an electric display in the field.

He almost ran out Rilee Rossouw with a bullet throw from the deep earlier in the innings before pulling the curtains on his batting partner Quinton de Kock's blistering innings. The explosive wicketkeeper-batter was looking in the mood before Iyer's brilliant throw from mid-wicket caught him well short at the crease in the 13th over.

Quinton de Kock and Rilee Rossouw launched a scathing assault against the Indian bowlers

Coming to the South African innings, the visitors were put in to bat first after Rohit Sharma won the toss. Temba Bavuma's misery with the bat continued as he succumbed to an eight-ball three on a batting paradise. But the Proteans weren't deterred by the skipper's wicket as Quinton de Kock and Rilee Rossouw took the attack to the Indian bowlers.

QDK, who rediscovered his form with a half-century in the previous outing, slain the Indian bowlers with some trademark shots on the leg side. By the time the southpaw was dismissed, he had amassed 68 runs in 43 deliveries. But India's misery did not end there as Rossouw continued his assault from the other end after Mohammed Siraj dropped him earlier in the innings.
