India’s biggest challenge to me has always been finding that right combination, especially in the T20 format: Parthiv Patel

“Now we are talking about just three Afghanistan games, if at all Virat, Rohit, or Bumrah play in them. So I think it is something that India will have to take into account,” Parthiv Patel said.

The Indian team is gearing up for the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2024. After barely missing out on the ODI World Cup title, the Men in Blue will be keen on putting in improved performances in the T20 format tournament. It is worth noting that the marquee tournament will be co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies.

Ahead of the tournament, there have been several discussions on who will be leading the Men in Blue in the competition. Furthermore, there could be many changes that the side could look to make in their squad as well. Speaking of the same, former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel gave his take on the same as well. He opined that the biggest challenge for the Indian team has always been finding the right combination in their squad.

“India’s biggest challenge to me has always been finding that right combination, especially in the T20 format,” Patel told Cribuzz.

Furthermore, he also talked about how senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah may not be available for India for their upcoming white-ball assignments.

“Now we are talking about just three Afghanistan games, if at all Virat, Rohit, or Bumrah play in them. So I think it is something that India will have to take into account,” he said.

They will have to go with whoever does well in the IPL: Patel

Furthermore, Parthiv Patel also opined that Team India will pick their squad for the T20I World Cup 2024 after seeing which players perform in the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

“They will have to go with whoever does well in the IPL. But then you will have to announce the team about halfway through the IPL as well. So it is a challenge. I am sure that before announcing the team, they must have thought of who is in line for the World Cup and whether we want to get them for the Afghanistan series,” Patel concluded.
