Jaipur saw the start of the 24th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 slow due to slight rains. The game on Wednesday was between the unbeaten Rajasthan Royals (RR) versus the Gujarat Titans (GT). Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first to make use of better conditions while chasing.

The two sides made a few changes to their side as Kuldeep Sen made his first appearance for the season. Gujarat Titans rested Kane Williamson as Matthew Wade made his return to the side as the specialist wicketkeeper.

Powerplay: Overs 0.1 to 6 and First Strategic Time-out (Mandatory – 43/2)

Rajasthan Royals began well with Yashasvi Jaiswal playing some delightful shots. Umesh Yadav got the wicket of Jaiswal caught by Matthew Wade for 24. Jos Buttler who had scored a century in the last game was caught in the slips off Rashid Khan for 8 runs.

Rajasthan Royals: 50 runs in 7.3 overs

Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag began cautiously on a pitch which was having a lot of help for the bowlers. The 50 came up very slow for the Royals liking as the two players looked to stay put for a while.

Fifty Partnership: Rajasthan Royals (off 42 balls)

After the loss of two early wickets, the pair of Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag did well with the bat. With a six off Noor Ahmed, Riyan Parag brought up the 50-run stand for the pair.

Rajasthan Royals: 100 runs in 12.4 overs

Riyan Parag seemed like a man on a missing for the home team. With a second six off Noor Ahmed, the 100 came for Rajasthan Royals with seven overs left to play.

Half-Century: Riyan Parag (off 34 balls)

It seemed like Riyan Parag wanted to bring up the milestones with big shots against the Titans. His 3rd six of the innings brought up his 3rd IPL half-century for the 2024 season.

Rajasthan Royals: Second Strategic time-out (134/2 from 15)

It was an amazing performance with the bat by Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag. The two stars made sure RR didn’t lost any more wickets after the first time-out. Sanju Samson broke loose to hit Spencer Johnson for two fours and a huge six to signal his intent.

Century partnership: Rajasthan Royals (off 66 balls)

It took Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson just 24 balls to score their next 50 to take it to the century run stand. Riyan Parag hit a helicopter shot as Umesh Yadav misfielded the ball and it rolled for a four.

Rajasthan Royals: 150 runs from 16.5 overs

Gujarat Titans bowlers continued to endure their horrendous luck with the bat. Shubman Gill saw the RR batters continue to make merry and bring the 150 up with 3 overs left.

Half-Century: Sanju Samson (off 31 balls)

Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson scored his third half-century of the 2024 season and 2nd in two games. Yet another misfield from the Titans brought up this milestone.

End of the innings: Rajasthan Royals: 196/3 from 20 overs

Riyan Parag played well to score 76 from 49 balls before falling to Mohit Sharma caught by Vijay Shankar. Shimron Hetmyer came out all guns blazing as the Royals went onto post a massive score on the board.
