India and Ireland are set to square off in a three-match T20I series, scheduled to kickstart on Friday, August 18. The Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin will host the entirety of the series which will culminate with the third and final T20I on Wednesday, August 23.

Speaking about their T20I head-to-head record, both the sides have contested in five matches, with India emerging victorious on all the occasions. In their last meeting in 2022, India narrowly won by four runs in a high-scoring thriller. 

It is worth mentioning that speedster Jasprit Bumrah is set to make his comeback to the setup after a long hiatus as he was confined to the sidelines due to a recurring back injury. The BCCI decided to field a second-string team which will be led by Bumrah, with Ruturaj Gaikwad named his deputy.

On the other hand, Paul Stirling will have the responsibility of leading the Irish side. All-rounders Fionn Hand and Gareth Delany are recalled to the setup after missing the T20 World Cup Europe Region Qualifier in July.

A crucial series awaits for the Indian setup as certain players will look to create a lasting impression keeping in mind the 2023 ODI World Cup.
