Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan extended an invitation to the Afghanistan cricket team, who were in Mumbai for their crucial World Cup 2023 match against Australia. He welcomed star players like Rashid Khan and Naveen-Ul-Haq, as well as their elder brother Yusuf Pathan, to his home for a meal. Additionally, prominent figures like Indian singer Adnan Sami and veteran Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty were in attendance at the Pathan household.


The event saw the presence of notable figures, including Indian singer Adnan Sami, Bollywood icons Sunil Shetty and Subhash Ghai, renowned Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh, former South African cricketer Imran Tahir, and Afghanistan's batting coach.

Afghanistan's 2023 World Cup journey has been remarkable, securing four victories. Currently, their fate is within their control, as they share equal points with New Zealand and Pakistan, with one less match played. Following the ongoing battle with Australia, Afghanistan will conclude their campaign with a game against the strong South African team on November 10 at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium.

Pathan's affection for the Afghanistan team is evident, as he continued to express his support by sharing dance videos following their triumphs over Sri Lanka and the Netherlands. After the victory against Sri Lanka, he danced alongside Harbhajan Singh in the broadcaster's studio, and he also posted a video of himself dancing to the 'Afghani Mast Song.'
