Delhi Capitals beat Punjab Kings by 15 runs in the ongoing IPL 2023 (match 64) on Wednesday, May 17 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala. After opting to bat first, DC posted a massive total of 213/2 in the first innings which was their first 200-plus score of the season.

In reply, PBKS could only manage to reach 198/8 in the second innings which resulted in their loss, denting their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs.

Talking about their thrilling win after the game, DC captain David Warner was delighted to play on a great batting track in Dharamsala. He further said that it has been tough for his side to play on slow and inconsistent pitches at Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi.

"I think playing on a nice wicket helps … it's been challenging for us back at home with a lot of slow wickets and inconsistent pitches, it's good to get the guys here for some momentum … at your home venue you want a bit of consistency and that's been the difficult thing. We haven't been able to work out what the best total is there,” Warner was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

Rilee Rossouw, who top-scored for Delhi with his breathtaking knock of 82* off 37 balls also echoed Warner’s words and stated that he enjoyed batting in Dharamsala.

"It's long overdue, let's put it that way. The wicket was really good to bat on, we haven't had many of those this season and it was just good to be on a batting wicket,” said Rossouw.

DC to play their last league game against CSK

DC have won just two games out of six matches played at their home so far in the season and crossed the 180-run mark twice. After having a disastrous start to IPL 2023 where they started with five consecutive losses, DC made a good comeback by winning four out of their next five games. However, consecutive losses against CSK and PBKS knocked them out of the tournament.

DC will now play their last league game against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday, May 20 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
