The 2023 Asia Cup hosting row has led to a lot of controversy in recent weeks. Recently, former Pakistan captain, Javed Miandad, came forward and told India to ‘go to hell’ after there were reports that the team will not be travelling to Pakistan for the ODI format Asia Cup.

The BCCI’s stance against travelling to Pakistan for the Asia Cup that the tournament could be moved out of the country, there were reports that it could now be hosted in the UAE as a neutral venue. A final decision on the matter, however, will be given out at the next ACC meeting in March.

After Miandad’s recent comments, the 65-year-old has come forward to clarify his recent comments. Speaking about the same in a video on his YouTube channel, Miandad said, "Do you know what hell means? If you don't want to play, just don't. We don't have a problem. Ask the Indian cricketers. They'll also say that there should be cricket between these two teams in their respective countries. It'll benefit both nations."

India not travelling to Pakistan makes no difference opines Miandad

Javed Miandad attracted a lot of heat after his recent comments on India, he also called for the International Cricket Council to take action against the BCCI, as he opined that the Indian board does not run cricket and that the rules should be the same for everyone.

"If they think that their (India) not coming to Pakistan makes any difference, let me tell you that it doesn’t. That’s what I meant. We are independent. Pakistan has produced world-class cricketers as well as hockey players. Everywhere around the world, neighbouring countries are playing with each other," Miandad added in the recent video.

The legendary batter also opined that the matches between India and Pakistan are something that fans look forward to, and team India travelling to Pakistan for the Asia Cup could be integral in mending the relationship between the two nations. The Asian Cricket are expected to announce a final decision on the matter in March and it looks quite possible that the Asia Cup could be hosted elsewhere.
