Premier South Africa fast bowler Kagiso Rabada joined the bandwagon of players who lamented about the difficulties of featuring in all three formats with a crunch schedule. Rabada, 27, admitted that he gets tired at times and highlighted that it is only human to feel so.

“The volume of cricket that you play these days, I won’t even lie – as much as we love the game and I always get back into like wanting to play and wanting to have the drive, sometimes it’s hard to get the drive with the amount of cricket that we play,” Kagiso Rabada said as per cricket.com.au.

“At the end of the day, we are human beings. Imagine being up for every single game that you play with the amount of fixtures that we have,” he added.

Incidentally, in the last few years, a lot of premier players have opened up and spoken of the similar situation. It includes the likes of Ben Stokes, Quinton De Kock while a lot of senior New Zealand players are currently cancelling their central contracts due to the hectic schedule.

Rabada picks two as Australia trail by seven runs after day one of first Test

However, as far as the first Test between Australia and South Africa is concerned, Rabada stepped up to the occasion and delivered after an atrocious batting performance in the first innings. Rabada dismissed premier Australia opener David Warner for a golden duck right after the innings break.

Anrich Nortje and Marco Jansen followed Rabada's wrath and dismissed Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne to set up a comeback. However, Steve Smith (36) and Travis Head (78*) retaliated well enough to put Australia in the driver's seat. However, with two quick wickets right before the end of the day’s play, the Proteas are once again back in the contest.
