Australia v South Africa 2022-23

South Africa will be visiting Australia for a bilateral series comprising three Tests from December 17 to January 08. This will indeed be a treat for the fans as both sides have a top-quality pace attack in their arsenal that would be hoping to make a strong statement on the bouncy wickets down under.

As far as the Test series is concerned, the Australia vs South Africa Points Table in the World Test Championship is a competitive one as both teams occupy the top two positions and thus, without a doubt this will definitely be a fiercely contested red-ball series.

The first Test will be played at the Gabba in Brisbane on December 17, the Boxing Day second Test match at the MCG on the 26th while the third and final game will be contested at the SCG on January 4, 2023. With a key focus on the three-match Test series, Australia who are already doing well against the West Indies in the ongoing home Test series have a huge advantage hosting the Proteas and they would be looking forward to strengthening their World Test Championship final qualification hopes.

Nonetheless, a series win here for the visitors could put teams like India and Sri Lanka in a spot of bother as the competition will then heat up in the points table.

The Aussies are comfortably placed at the pole position in the points table with 96 points at PCT of 72.73% and with 72 points with a PCT of 60%, South Africa take the second place and both of them are the firm favourites on paper to make the WTC Final in June next year.
