Veteran Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake showcased his bowling skills as he posted a video of himself bowling fierce bouncers at Kingston's Sabina Park on April 10. Blake, one of the best sprinters in the world, is a follower of cricket and regularly plays club cricket for Kingston Cricket Club.
He specializes as a right-arm pacer and in his latest outings, he impressed the fans with a quick bouncer. In a video tweeted on Monday, April 10, Blake could be seen bowling a sensational delivery which the batter totally missed. Blake also revealed that he would release the full video of him bowling similar deliveries soon.
"Full video coming soon of me bowling fast under the lights at Sabina Park last night," Blake wrote in his tweet.
The 33-year-old sprinter grabbed the attention of the cricket fraternity as he posted a picture of himself in Rajasthan Royals' jersey after the franchise's dominating win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in their first Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL) match on April 2. He praised Royals on their win and wished them for a big season in the ongoing 16th edition of the tournament.
Blake expresses his admiration for Team India star Virat Kohli
The legendary sprinter had earlier also expressed his interest to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore during the IPL 2019, to which the franchise replied," We heard you're interested, Yohan Blake. If you bowl as fast as you run, you already have a place reserved in our team."
In the past, Blake expressed his desire to play for the West Indies national cricket team as well. He had also revealed Virat Kohli to be his favorite cricketer and lauded the latter's captaincy skills during England's tour of India in 2021.
"What I really love about Team India is that Virat Kohli doesn't find any excuses. That's what I really love about his captaincy, he took the blame for everything. He said the bowlers didn't find the right areas, the batsmen were not as consistent. He said 'we got to go back to the drawing board and come back'. And that's what I love about Virat Kohli and his captaincy,” Yohan Blake said in February 2021.
