The IPL 2023 is heading towards an exciting end with just 13 matches remaining in the league stage. All ten teams are still in contention to qualify for the playoffs and will be looking to give their all in the field to seal their spot in the top four.

Meanwhile, former India cricketer Virender Sehwag has named Lucknow Super Giants as one of the most balanced teams of the tournament. He further stated that the Krunal Pandya-led side has performed well away from home but hasn’t been up to the mark in their home ground.

"Lucknow Super Giants are one of the best and most balanced teams in this tournament. They've done well playing away from home but their performance at home ground in Lucknow hasn't been up to the mark,” said Sehwag on Star Sports.

Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, who was also present on the panel, lauded Punjab Kings' wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma for his brilliant performance this season and called him a key member of the side.

Jitesh Sharma has been contributing well for PBKS: Sunil Gavaskar

"Jitesh Sharma has been contributing well for PBKS, he's been striking the ball at a good rate at the back end of the innings. He's giving Punjab just the push and momentum towards the last 4/5 overs, which they haven't had in the previous years. So his contribution with the bat cannot be undermined,” said Gavaskar.

Notably, Jitesh has scored 260 runs in 11 innings at an average of 26 at a strike and a strike rate of 160.49. The 29-year-old has the highest score of 49* off 27 against Mumbai Indians during Match 46 in Mohali. The wicket keeper batter has also inflicted five dismissals donning the wicket-keeping gloves.

Punjab Kings will be taking on Delhi Capitals in the evening game on May 13. The Shikhar Dhawan-led side is ranked eighth on the IPL points table with five wins from 11 matches and will look to win all of their three remaining games to qualify for the playoffs.
