India and Australia are squaring off in ICC World Test Championship final 2023. The match began on Wednesday (June 7) at Kennington Oval Stadium in London. India will be looking to lift the WTC title in their second attempt after losing to New Zealand in the final of the inaugural edition of the championship. It might be fascinating to witness which squad triumphs to secure the championship as the two sides prepare for the high-stakes showdown.

In the same vein, former cricketer Brad Hogg feels Australia will triumph over India in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) final because of Australia's exceptional preparations. He asserted that his country would win the game, suggesting that they are well prepared for the Test, giving them an advantage over India.

"I think it all comes down to preparation, that is going to be the difference in this game. Australia have got the advantage because most of their players were preparing for the longer format and that is why I think they are going to win this Test," Hogg said on his YouTube channel.

Indian players were busy in the IPL 2023 ahead of the WTC Final 2023 from March 31 to May 28. In contrast, numerous Australian players who are competing in the WTC final, like Pat Cummins and Steve Smith were busy preparing for the ICC event and Ashes 2023. T former spinner was also perplexed by the fact that ICC planned the World Test Championship final to take place following the IPL 2023 season. He feels the ICC should have held the match right after India vs. Australia Test series in March.

You cannot have two teams coming in with very different levels of preparation: Hogg

"It just blows my mind how the ICC have just allowed this to happen. Both of the teams should have been playing the WTC Final straight after their series in India. You have got to keep the momentum going. You cannot have two teams coming in with very different levels of preparation," he affirmed further.

Meanwhile, India and Australia will aim to lift the ICC WTC trophy after winning the WTC Final in 2023. In the most recent competition, India finished second after losing to New Zealand in the championship match.
