Amidst the speculations over the next Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary appointment, the board is conducting its 93rd Annual General Meeting on September 25. The agenda of the meeting will not be the appointment of the new Secretary after Jay Shah stepped down to hold the Chairmanship of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
As per the reports from NDTV, BCCI’s AGM will address the issues focusing on the sponsorship with BYJUs and the establishment of the new National Cricket Academy (NCA). Speaking of NCA, the ongoing construction of a new state-of-the-art NCA in Bengaluru will be one of the key issues in discussion. Another topic of discussion in the AGM will be the approval of BCCI to start renovating the exteriors of BCCI's Mumbai HQ.

BYJUs were the main sponsors of the Indian jersey after they signed a three-year deal in 2019. The deal saw an extension of USD 55 million. Both entities were embroiled in case of non-issues of payments from October 2022 to March 2023. The potential discussions on the future business prospects have given a different twist to the tale.
Jay Shah has been unanimously elected as the new Chairman of the ICC and he is bracing to hold the chair officially from December 1.
“I am humbled by the nomination as the Chair of the International Cricket Council. I am committed to working closely with the ICC team and our member nations to further globalize cricket. We stand at a critical juncture where it is increasingly important to balance the coexistence of multiple formats, promote the adoption of advanced technologies, and introduce our marquee events to new global markets. Our goal is to make cricket more inclusive and popular than ever before,” said Shah after getting elected.
