BCCI secretary and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Jay Shah announced last month that the Indian team will not be travelling to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023. The Indian management wants the venue to be changed to UAE, which did not go down well with PCB chairman Ramiz Raja.

The former cricketer also issued a counter-statement questioning Shah’s comment. PCB was left furious as neither the ACC nor the BCCI communicated anything in this regard, leaving the PCB unaware.

The story didn’t end there as Raza stated that Pakistan team will not be travelling to India for the ODI World Cup 2023 if the Indians don't visit Pakistan for the next edition of the Asia Cup.

While the BCCI is yet to respond, the former President of the board and current Sports Minister of India, Anurag Thakur reminded the PCB chief about India’s power in world cricket. He also mentioned that there’s no team in the world who can overlook India at the moment.

“Wait for the right time. India is a major power in the world of sports & no country can overlook India,” Thakur told reporters recently.

BCCI receives 80 applications for new selection committee

Roger Binny-led BCCI sacked all the members of the Indian Men’s selection committee after the Men in Blue failed to achieve their target in 2022.

As per reports, there were multiple allegations against them including their involvement in the game. Despite BCCI’s policy of selectors following India’s international matches and other domestic matches from the stadium, the ex-batch failed to do so and was sacked from their job.

As per reports, the organisation has received 80 new applications so far in order to build the new selection committee. BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee will go through the application and will be making a call in the near future. The senior members of the board are expected to meet on December 1 in Mumbai before the Rohit Sharma and co. leaves for Bangladesh.
