England registered a comfortable 137-run win against Bangladesh in the ongoing ICC Cricket Cricket World Cup on October 10 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. After being invited to bat first, England posted a mammoth total of 364 in the allotted overs, thanks to Dawid Malan's 140-run knock.
Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root also provided significant contributions, scoring 52 and 82 runs, respectively. Mahedi Hasan and Shoriful Islam were key for Bangladesh, picking up four and three wickets, respectively.
Reece Topley was the pick of England bowlers as he made a four-fer. Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim scored respective half-centuries, but their efforts went in vain as Bangladesh were restricted to 227 in 48.2 overs.
Here are the talking points from the match:
Dawid Malan's blistering knock of 140 runs
Dawid Malan went all guns blazing, smashing 140 off just 107 deliveries, including 16 boundaries and five maximums. The England opener added a new feather to his cap, becoming the fastest player to achieve the six hundreds in the 50-over format.
Litton Das' crucial knock for his team
Liton Das was instrumental for his side when almost all batters fell cheaply against England's bowling attack. The wicketkeeper-batter top-scored for his side, amassing 76 off a mere 66 deliveries with the help of seven fours and two sixes.
Reece Topley's four-fer helps England to register first win
Reece Topley played a vital role in the defending champions' first win in the ongoing competition. The fast-medium bowler finished with excellent fires of 4/43 in his full quota.

It was a good toss to win, there was some rain last night. There was some help for the faster bowlers but we didn't start well. When you give them a sniff, they will always come at us strong. We did well in the last 10 overs but it will always be tough to chase 350. We planned well, but we couldn't execute. The ball was swinging nicely, needed to put in the right areas and build momentum. Once they got the momentum it was tough to contain them. I think the position they were in, they could have scored 380-390, we restricted them well. But I think 320 would have been a good total to chase here. It is a long tournament, we have a tough fixture coming up in Chennai, NZ are playing well. We have to move on, keep doing the right things and take it one game at a time.

Really good performance, stuck to our guns. Really important for us after a bad performance earlier. The back end I think we should have scored a few more, we could do well with some partnerships at the back end. It was fantastic to see Dawid Malan stand up and get a big hundred after what happened first game. We are always looking for the perfect performance, can't remember the number of times it actually works out. One of the challenges is going to be reading the conditions and pitch well, we have a fantastic, balanced squad - a good combination of swing and spin. Today was fantastic to see Reece Topley come in and perform that way.

It's nice to contribute, been a long journey to try and get to this stage, so to get here is fantastic and then to put in performance to win a game is great as well, I don't know what it is down to to, hopefully it will continue (talking about his incredible form this year). Sometimes I play good shots and sometimes I play bad shots and that's cricket (talking about the criticism), it's always about trying to cash in against some type of bowling which is yours on the day. When you got Root at three who is so consistent, it allows us to play a bit freely. I'm desperate to do well this format, desperate to win games of cricket and prove a point and prove people wrong. So, when I get in, I don't like to give it away.
