India's ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja joined Harbhajan Singh in an elite list following his remarkable performance in the side's opening match against Australia at the ongoing ODI World Cup in Chennai.

The 34-year-old picked up three crucial wickets in the blockbuster clash at his Indian Premier League (IPL) home venue. He now has 102 wickets, making him the third bowler in international cricket history to take a century of wickets against Australia. He achieved the feat in a total of 40 matches.

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh comes in second with 105 wickets in 37 matches. Meanwhile, veteran England fast bowler Stuart Broad leads the chart with 128 wickets in 41 games.

Jadeja's three-wicket haul helps India restrict Australia to 199 in 49.3 overs

Speaking about the match Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. Star India speedster Jasprit Bumrah provided the first breakthrough for India, dismissing opener Mitchell Marsh for a six-ball duck in the third over. In-form David Warner along with Steve Smith attempted to steady Australia's innings before Kuldeep Yadav sent the southpaw back to the pavilion for 41 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja joined the party as he broke a crucial partnership between Marnus Labuschagne and Smith, dismissing the latter for just 46 runs in the 28th over of the game. He got the big wicket of Labuschagne (27) in his second delivery of the 30th over while the batter trying to play a sweep. He caught Alex Carey LBW for 0 in the same over and sent Australia reeling in the middle overs.

While Jadeja was key for India, Kuldeep Yadav (2/42) and Ravichandran Ashwin (1/34) also contributed three wickets between them. Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya also made one scalp each. It is worth noting that Australia chose a cautious approach on a wicket in the pitch where run-scoring seems difficult.
