India and Australia are facing off in the final of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to field, asking the Indian team to bat first.
During the 14th over of India’s batting, a pitch intruder entered the ground wearing a t-shirt with the slogan 'stop bombing Palestine" and attempted to hug Virat Kohli. However, Kohli refused the hug and there was a brief pause in play while stewards dealt with the situation. Kohli and Rahul took advantage of the break to have a conversation.

Later, it was revealed that the pitch invader had reportedly been arrested.
Coming to the match, the Indian team started well after being asked to bat by the Aussies, courtesy of brilliant batting by the captain Rohit Sharma. He took on the Australian bowlers from the word go and put them under pressure.
However, Shubman Gill from the other end looked totally out of form and was struggling throughout his short stay at the wicket. He was dismissed at the team's total of 30 by Mitchell Starc as he could just score four off seven balls.
Rohit from the other end kept on smashing the bowlers and looked like would score big in the match but in the last over of the power play, he was dismissed by Glen Maxwell, trying to play a big shot. He scored 47 of 31 balls with four fours and three sixes.
Very soon, Shreyas Iyer, a centurion of the last match was also dismissed by Pat Cummins as he could just score four off three balls.
As of now, Virat Kohli is at the crease with KL Rahul. Kohli has just reached his fifty off 56 balls with four fours to his name, while KL is at 25 off 55 balls. India are at 135 for three after 26 overs.
KL and Virat will be looking to extend their partnership to propel India to a good score as the wicket is expected to get better in the second inning due to the expected dew.
