On Monday, October 11, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced the schedule for New Zealand’s dual tour of Pakistan as the two teams will play each other between December 2022-January 2023 and the BlackCaps will return again in April-may 2023 for a bilateral series consisting of both ODIs and T20Is.

From December 27 to January 15, the BlackCaps will play three ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League games. and two Tests as part of their ICC World Test Championship campaign before coming back for five T20Is and five ODIs from April 13 to May 7.

The Kane Williamson-led New Zealand will play two Tests during their first phase of the Pakistan tour between December 2022-January 2023. While the first Test is scheduled to be played in Karachi from December 27 to 31, the second Test will be hosted by Multan starting January 4th 2022. For the three ICC Super League fixtures on January 11, 13, and 15, the teams will travel back to Karachi.

The Karachi Test will mark New Zealand's first visit to the city since October 1990. For Multan as well, it has been a momentous year. Multan hosted three one-day internationals against the West Indies in May and will now be hosting the second Test match between Pakistan and England (December 9–13), and the second Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand.

Four Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) will kick off New Zealand's second leg of the Pakistan tour in Karachi (April 13, 15, 16, and 19). The fifth T20I and two ODIs will follow in Lahore (April 23, 26, and 28), and the final three ODIs will be contested in Rawalpindi (May 1, 4, and 7). The first phase of the New Zealand tour of Pakistan, which consists of two Test matches and three ODIs, is a part of the Future Tours Programme (FTP)

The 10 white-ball fixtures in April and May are intended to make up for the canceled September 2021 tour. Pakistan is now in fifth place, while New Zealand is currently ranked eighth in the ICC World Test Championship Points Table. Pakistan and New Zealand are currently ranked fourth and sixth, respectively, in the ICC Super League, a competition that serves as a qualifier for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.
