Team India is taking on South Africa in their third group-stage encounter of the T20 World Cup 2022, at the Perth Stadium on October 30. The Men in Blue will be looking to win the game against the Proteas and extend its dominance in the tournament.

Not just the Indian fans, but the Pakistani fans will also be rooting for team India to win against South Africa. The reason for that is the Men in Green have already lost two out of three matches and they will now be depending on other teams to qualify for the next stage apart from winning their games by big margins.

Meanwhile, Wasim Jaffer has stated that the Pakistani fans supporting team India is a rare occurrence and emphasized the fact that sports do unite two countries. Jaffer also hoped that India tops its group so that it will give chances to other teams for qualifying for the next stage.

I do hope that India plays well today and hopefully leads the group: Wasim Jaffer

"All the Pakistanis are going to support India which doesn't happen very often, so it does show that sports do unite people. All Pakistanis will be praying for India to win which is good in a way. I do hope that India plays well today and hopefully leads the group as it will also open the group-wide open," said Wasim Jaffer on BatBricks present Run ki Runeeti only on CricTracker.

The former Indian cricketer also stated that India has been lucky that the weather has not played a role in their games thus far, with both games ending in result.

“India has been lucky, Melbourne (the venue for the Pakistan match) looked like it would be washed out. But fortunately for everyone, we got to see one of the greatest matches in the T20 World Cup and it looked the same in the Netherlands game, and even today against South Africa, there were chances of rain, but I think India have been lucky,” Jaffer added.
