The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has threatened to take legal action against its former chairman Ramiz Raja after the latter's sudden sacking last week. Ramiz expressed sudden outburst after his ouster from the office, to which the PCB expressed its disappointment in an official statement on Wednesday (December 28).

The PCB believes that the comments made by Ramiz Raja against the new chairman Najam Sethi and the management committee were unprecedented and are aimed to tarnish the reputation of Sethi and the governing body.

"The Pakistan Cricket Board has expressed its disappointment over the comments made and language used by former Chairman Mr Ramiz Raja against Chairman of the PCB Management Committee Mr Najam Sethi on a social media platform and in a TV interview," PCB said in an official statement.

"The PCB believes former chairman Mr Raja's comments are aimed at tarnishing and damaging the impeccable reputation of present chairman Mr Sethi, adding it reserves it's rights to pursue legal proceedings to protect and defend the image and credibility of its chairman and the institution," the statement added.

What tamasha is this: Ramiz Raja

On December 22, the Pakistan government dismissed Ramiz Raja from his post following a 0-3 home Test series loss against England. Following his sacking, Raja alleged that he was not even allowed to fetch his belongings from the office and also took a dig at the new management for its behavior during the revamp process.

"Najam Sethi tweets at 2 in the night that Ramiz Raja is out. Is this respect for a former captain? I was not even allowed to go to the office and collect my belongings," Ramiz Raja said on December 26 on his YouTube channel 'Ramiz Speaks'.

"The morning after the announcement was made to remove me there were around 17 people running all over the PCB office as if they owned it. It was as if I had committed some crime and I would take some incriminating evidence from my office. What tamasha is this? These people have just come to enjoy themselves and get the publicity... they know nothing about cricket," Raja mentioned.
