In an unfortunate incident, a batter lost his life while playing a local cricket match in Firozpur, which is a city in the Firozpur District of Punjab.
The local cricketer, named Harjeet Singh, was seen hitting a six against a spinner on the leg-side in a horrifying video. Shortly after the big hit, the batter went towards the center of the pitch and got down on his haunches. This isn't something too abnormal on a cricket field, as players generally do this to catch their breath. The non-striker must have felt the same as he sat beside the right-handed batter.
However, he was totally taken by surprise when the right-handed batter collapsed to the ground, face-first. All the players rushed towards Harjeet, trying to figure out what had happened to him. Upon seeing that he was unconscious, they tried to perform CPR to resuscitate him. However, despite their best efforts, Harjeet couldn't recover.
Harjeet could not be saved as he was declared dead at the spot, reportedly due to cardiac arrest. The video has left the cricket fraternity in a state of shock and grief. Many cricket fans commented on the video, expressing their condolences to the family of Harjeet. A few of them also wondered why such incidents are happening so frequently.

“Many times we don’t listen to our body while exercising or playing sports. This should be avoided," a user commented. Another person wrote, “How so many Heart attacks are happening at such a young age? Taking care of our body should be the most important subject right through our school and college."
