India won by just five runs via D/L method against Bangladesh in the 35th match of the T20 World Cup 2022 tournament on Wednesday (November 2). It was not a convincing win by the Indian team but two points boosted them to the top of the Super 12 Group 2 table and they are now favourites to qualify for the semi-final round.

KL Rahul ended his poor run of form with a quick fifty and in-form Virat Kohli smashed unbeaten 64 runs off 44 balls to help India post a big 184/6 total while batting first at Adelaide Oval. Indian bowlers struggled in the early stages but eventually dragged India to a narrow five-run win in a rain-disturbed game.

It's easy for the bowlers to gain momentum after rain's interruption: Nikhil Chopra

Bangladesh were chasing 151 runs from 16 overs after the interruption of the rain with ten wickets in hand. Litton Das smashed 60 runs off just 27 balls while opening an innings but was run out after a brilliant direct throw from KL Rahul. Indian bowlers put in some impressive spells after the break with the help of good fielding efforts and Litton's wicket truly turned the game for India.

The former Indian cricketer Nikhil Chopra, while speaking in BatBricks7 Run Ki RunNeeti post-match show on CricTracker, has also stated that KL Rahul's throw to run out Litton was a game-changing moment for India. He also added that rain also shifted momentum towards the Indian side as Bangladeshi batters struggled to regain confidence.

"Bangladesh started well and Litton Das was playing dangerous cricket. But even without rain's interruption, India had two spin options in Ravi Ashwin and Axar Patel to slow Litton Das' approach as his numbers against spin are not impressive. But rain definitely changed the momentum as the batter's body freezes and they had to start from zero again. But it's easy for the bowlers to regain momentum after the interruption as they get time to discuss the bowling strategy with support staff, which clearly helps a fielding team.

"I was surprised with Bangladesh's approach after the rain as every batter was batting with explosive intent. But the game truly shifted with KL Rahul's direct throw to run out Litton Das," Nikhil Chopra said after the match.
