Ranji Trophy 2024: Round 7, Day 1 Highlights, Points Table, Cricket Scorecard, Stats, and Records

Day 1 of Round 7 saw centuries from Baba Indrajith, and Shivam Dube among others. Meanwhile, Shardul Thakur bagged a six-for to dismantle Assam.

Round 7, which is the final round of the league phase of the Ranji Trophy 2024, got underway on Friday, February 16. Several players stood out with some memorable performances, while there was a controversial incident that took place involving Mumbai captain, Ajinkya Rahane.

Mumbai dismissed Assam for 84 on the back of a six-wicket haul from Shardul Thakur. In reply, Mumbai slipped to 60/4 and 110/5 but Shivam Dube's swashbuckling century helped them finish on 217/6 at Stumps.

In another game, Jharkhand were bowled out for 188 before Rajasthan finished the day on 79/2. Notably, the trio of Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, and Deepak Chahar didn't represent their respective domestic sides despite being specifically told to play first-class cricket.

Elite Group A:

Vidarbha vs Haryana - Half-centuries from Dhruv Shorey, Akshay Wadkar, Yash Rathod, and Aditya Sarwate helped Vidarbha finish the day on 313/5. Sarwate and Rathod resurrected the team from a tricky situation at 166/5.

Saurashtra vs Manipur - A combined effort from Saurashtra's bowling attack helped them bowl out Manipur for 142. Skipper Arpit Vasavada remained unbeaten on 63 as the defending champions finished the day at 153/3.

Services vs Maharashtra - Ruturaj Gaikwad was the lone warrior for Maharashtra as he scored a fine 96 in a total of 225. Arjun Sharma picked up five wickets for Services. The Rajat Paliwal-led side ended the day on 27/0.

Jharkhand vs Rajasthan - In the absence of Ishan, Jharkhand were rolled over for 188 by a disciplined Rajasthan bowling unit. Khaleed Ahmed and Mahipal Lomror bagged three wickets apiece. Rajasthan finished the day at 79/2.

Elite Group B:

Mumbai vs Assam - Shardul Thakur finished with figures of 6/21, as Assam were bowled out for just 84. In reply, Mumbai were in a spot of bother at 110/5 but Shivam Dube's unbeaten 101 off 95 balls took them to a position of strength at 217/6. Ajinkya Rahane was given out obstructing the field but the Assam players called him back by withdrawing the appeal thereby showing the spirit of true sportsmanship.

Andhra Pradesh vs Kerala - Ricky Bhui remained unbeaten on 79 as Andhra Pradesh finished the day on 260/7.

Uttar Pradesh vs Chhattisgarh - Chhattisgarh lost their first four wickets for 88 runs before Sanjeet Desai (113*) and Amandeep Khare (70*) stitched a memorable partnership. They ended the day on 238/4.

Bengal vs Bihar - A hapless Bihar side were bowled out for 95 after Mukesh Kumar and Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal bagged four wickets each. Bengal finished the day at 111/2 as Abhimanyu Easwaran remained unbeaten on 48.

Elite Group C:

Karnataka vs Chandigarh - Karan Kaila top-scored with 79 as Chandigarh finished at 219/6 at Stumps on Day 1.

Tamil Nadu vs Punjab - After being reduced to 107/4, Baba Indrajith (122*) and Vijay Shankar (85*) have added 184 runs to help Tamil Nadu finish on 291/4 at the end of Day 1.

Goa vs Gujarat - Goa saw a tremendous rescue job being done by the trio of Darshan Misal, Arjun Tendulkar, and Mohit Redkar after they were reduced to 72/6 and 161/7. The home side eventually finished the day on 309/9.

Tripura vs Railways - Railways did well to dismiss Tripura for 149 but were themselves reduced to 72/7 at Stumps. Yuvraj Singh bagged a four-for for Railways, while Manisankar Murasingh picked a three-wicket haul for Tripura.

Elite Group D:

Madhya Pradesh vs Jammu & Kashmir - Madhya Pradesh were bowled out for 200 after Himanshu Mantri and Venkatesh Iyer scored half-centuries. Jammu & Kashmir are 42/3 in their first innings.

Uttarakhand vs Baroda - Skipper Jiwanjot Singh's 139 and Aditya Tare's unbeaten 75 have taken Uttarakhand to 295/5 at Stumps.

Delhi vs Odisha - Former Chennai Super Kings player Subhranshu Senapati scored 109 not out after Shantanu Mishra hit 76 in Odisha's score of 314/4 on Day 1.

Puducherry vs Himachal Pradesh - Prashant Chopra scored a half-century, while Nikhil Gangta remained not out on 100 as Himachal Pradesh finished the day at 272/4.
