Lucknow Super Giants decided to part ways with Andy Flower and appointed Justin Langer as the new head coach. However, that has not dimmed the popularity of the former as Rajasthan Royals seem to be keen to bring him into their set-up. Notably, Kumar Sangakkara, the Director of Cricket at Rajasthan, is likely to retain his position and he has expressed their desire to appoint Flower as the next head coach.

Meanwhile, there are more franchises interested to bring Flower in, as certain reports suggest that Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad are looking for new coaches, with Flower likely to be on their radar. Notably, RCB under Mike Hesson and Sanjay Bangar could not find success in the last four years and hence the team management is interested to bring in a fresh staff.

Hyderabad, on the other hand, finished at the bottom of the table in IPL 2023 and are under tremendous pressure to regain their identity. In the last edition of the competition, the team released a lot of their star cricketers and signed a lot of new faces who were expected to take Hyderabad to the top. However, the players failed to step up as Brian Lara, the head coach, faced a lot of heat.

The coaching unit also had issues with Umran Malik, who barely featured in the playing XI last year. Thus, the team management prefers to bring someone new and thus, Flower can be one of the options for them. Even though neither Lara nor the franchise has confirmed any development, a Cricbuzz report states the team management is in the hunt for a new coach as they do not prefer the former cricketer’s coaching style.

When it comes to RCB, their contract with Hesson ends on August 31 and on December 31 with Bangar and they have made no attempts to re-sign them at the moment.
