The apex cricket governing body International Cricket Council (ICC) has reportedly fallen prey to online fraud and is all set to lose $2.5 million due to subterfuge. Although the ICC officials are tight-lipped on the matter, as per Cricbuzz the organisation has been duped online.

Phishing or online fraud is one of the most common scams happening around the world. But nowadays we are getting to see more cases of people and even major companies getting scammed. online The people who carry out such scams are professionals at what they do and it is very difficult to track them considering they do this on a daily basis.

Reportedly, ICC became a victim of one such online fraud recently and there are reports that the company is set to lose more than $2.5 million as a result of the same. The amount is very big even for a million-dollar organisation like the ICC.

The amount is equivalent to the fund granted to an associate team every year to play in the ODI format. And hence that fact proves how much value the amount holds and how crucial money is for growth of cricket around the world.

The ICC officials are silent on the matter and as per Cricbuzz it is now engaging with the law enforcement authorities in the United States. ICC will obviously enrol for legal actions and will try to reclaim the lost amount and would be hoping the fraudulent group comes to light. Not a single official of the ICC has come out in the public domain and addressed the media regarding the same.
