The much-awaited Cricket World Cup 2023 is scheduled to kick off on October 5, later this year, and fans are eagerly anticipating the excitement it will bring. However, a recent development has raised concerns for Pakistan vs. England match on November 12, set to take place at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The Kolkata Police has reached out to the Cricket Association of Bengal, expressing apprehensions about security deployment during the match. As we all know, ensuring the safety of players and spectators is of utmost importance, and this situation calls for thorough attention and planning.

Notably, the Pakistan team management has already spoken about the security issues for the Babar Azam-led team in India. Earlier a recent development has confirmed that a committee led by Bilawal Bhutto which has been appointed by Pakistan's Prime Minister is discussing Pakistan's World Cup participation along with seeking security clearance in India.
However, some latest reports have indicated that the much-awaited India-Pakistan match might also be rescheduled to October 14. Furthermore, Pakistan's match against the Netherlands which was originally scheduled to take place on October 6 in Hyderabad, could also be changed.
Besides, the Pakistan-Sri Lanka game slated for October 12 might change as well. As previously stated by the BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah, the venues shall remain unchanged.
BCCI-ICC to reveal revised schedule for the 2023 ODI World Cup
Sources from both the BCCI and ICC speculate that the final schedule shall be unveiled during the upcoming week, possibly leading to alterations in dates for four to six games. Additionally, the timeline for ticket sales is expected this week, with Paytm Insider poised to acquire the license to facilitate the online ticket sales
Now it will be interesting to see what actions are going to be taken by BCCI and the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). It will be worth seeing the reaction of PCB as well on the recent development.
As the marquee event comes closer, higher authorities are diligently working on resolving all the issues, and cricket enthusiasts hope for a successful and secure World Cup that remains a memorable event for each and every one.
