Legends League Cricket (LLC) has issued a legal notice to former cricketer Sreesanth following his comments regarding India Capitals skipper Gautam Gambhir. The 40-year-old via multiple videos and posts has communicated that Gambhir has called him a ‘fixer’ during the match, which has hurt him very much. He quickly took the matter to social media and by doing so, Sreesanth violated the code of conduct.
A notice mentioned that the ace pacer had breached his contract during the tournament. However, as per India Today, LLC will only talk to Sreesanth once he removes all the videos criticising Gambhir as it is within the preview of the league. On the other hand, the umpires and the match officials have submitted their reports regarding the incident but none of them mentioned about Sreesanth’s claim of Gambhir calling him a ‘fixer’.
Notably, Sreesanth took another dig at Gambhir during his team India Capitals’ match against Manipal Tigers. The Kerala-born cricketer seemed to celebrate Gambhir’s dismissal in Qualifier 2 as he congratulated Amitoze Singh following his direct throw which sent the southpaw back to the pavilion.
On the other hand, Sreesanth’s wife Bhuvneshwari Kumari defended her husband and criticised Gambhir on social media. He questioned the cricketer's upbringing and termed the incident to be shocking.
“It is so shocking to hear from Sree that a player who has played for India with him for many years can stoop to this level. Even after so many years of retirement from active cricket. After all upbringing matters a lot and it shows up when this kind of behaviour comes up on ground. Shocking truly shocking,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Gambhir is yet to comment on the matter. The 42-year-old posted a cryptic message on his social media handles but didn’t confirm what went down during the match. Interestingly, a new video has emerged on social media, where it can be seen that Sreesanth tried to sledge Gambhir while the latter was batting. The main incident followed soon after that.
