It is down to the last two games of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which are to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The first team to make it into the IPL 2025 finals are the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who have started to train at the venue ahead of the Qualifier two match between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS).
According to the reports, the franchise was training in the afternoon in the B-ground of the Motera, since the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) has understandably not permitted any practice during the evening or night hours. The team had landed in Ahmedabad on May 31 after staying back at Chandigarh for a day before catching a flight to the venue. While preparing, the Men in Red will also be awaiting the team that will be facing off against them in the finals, which will be decided in the qualifier 2 game itself.
Speaking of the teams competing in the Qualifier two game, the Punjab Kings team had arrived at the venue on Friday evening. The team was seen having a fielding practice session and gearing up for the upcoming match. On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians (MI) flew directly from Chandigarh to Ahmedabad and had checked into their hotel by 5 AM on Saturday. However, the teams will face a big challenge since the drizzle in the last game prompted the ground to be covered, and neither of the teams got the chance to see the wicket.
Can RCB finally break the final jinx?
This will be the fourth time the Bengaluru franchise will be making it into the finals, which they have achieved after nine years. The three finals were some of the heartbreaking moments for the RCB franchise, where they finished as the runner-ups in 2009, 2011, and 2012. The fans and the players will be hoping that they finally get their hands on the title this season.
