Shoaib Akhtar offered high commendation for Rohit Sharma, asserting that the Indian skipper thoroughly dominated Pakistan's bowling lineup in the recent ICC World Cup 2023 match held in Ahmedabad on Saturday. Rohit played a crucial part in India's triumph against Pakistan, as he notched an outstanding 86 runs in a mere 63 deliveries, propelling India towards their goal of 192 runs.

Sharma's remarkable display played a pivotal role in India's eighth World Cup triumph over Pakistan, securing a convincing 7-wicket victory. Furthermore, reflecting on the game, Shoaib Akhtar expressed that the India opener's performance amounted to a humiliation of Pakistan, serving as payback for the previous two years of subpar performances between the two arch-rivals.

“The kind of innings he played, he humiliated Pakistan’s bowling attack. He took revenge for the last two years where he didn’t get many runs. Good to see Rohit Sharma back, he did right to smash the bowlers. What’s the need of finishing the game at the last overs and take it deep? Rohit hammered the bowlers,” Akhtar said on his YouTube channel.
