Indian Cricketers have a massive following among fans and even after their retirement, fans keep a track of every activity of theirs on social media. Recently, legendary former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar shared a photograph of him along with his former teammates Anil Kumble and Yuvraj Singh on Saturday, March 4.
The trio recreated a moment from the iconic Bollywood movie ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ as they got clicked in Goa.
The batting maestro shared the photograph on Instagram and asked his followers to guess who they thought were the characters Akash, Sameer and Sid from the movie. ‘Our Dil Chahta Hai moment in Goa! Who do you think is Akash, Sameer and Sid?,’ he captioned the photo.
The post has garnered over 1.4 million likes so far since being shared. The movie ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ was released in 2001 and had actors Aamir Khan, Akshay Khanna, and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles.
Tendulkar, Yuvraj and Kumble were three pillars of Indian cricket
The trio of Kumble, Yuvraj and Tendulkar had very successful careers in the cricket field. Kumble is the leading wicket-taker for India in international cricket with 956 scalps to his name and he also ranks fourth on the list of leading wicket-takers in international cricket. The wrist spinner has 619 wickets to his name in Test cricket making him the fourth highest wicket-taker in the format.
Yuvraj Singh was a proven match-winner for India in limited-overs cricket. He played a pivotal role in India’s two world cup triumphs in 2007 and 2011 respectively. The southpaw was awarded the prestigious ‘Player of the Tournament’ in the 2011 world cup for scoring 362 runs and picking up 15 wickets.
Sachin Tendulkar is touted as the greatest batter ever to grace the cricket field after the legendary Sir Don Bradman. He’s the leading run-scorer in both Tests and ODIs having scored 15,921 and 18,426 runs respectively. He further has a mammoth 100 centuries in international cricket.
