Former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt has urged Ramiz Raja to stop whining after his ouster as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman following a 0-3 drubbing against England in the home Test series. Ramiz has been succeeded by Najam Sethi.

Meanwhile, Butt has slammed Raja for holding grudges against PCB and for making ‘sour grapes’ statements in order to vent out his frustration on the board and has urged the 1992 World Cup winner to accept the decision gracefully and move on in life.

Ramiz Raja was lucky that the new government allowed him to work for several months after coming to power: Salman Butt

"Ramiz Raja was lucky that the new government allowed him to work for several months after coming to power. Not only did they not remove him straight away, but they also supported him. There had been talks about Ramiz's removal. It did not happen overnight. I think his recent comments have left a bitter taste,” said Salman Butt on his official YouTube channel.

"People have been sacked before too, but nobody has ever reacted this way after being removed. It's like someone has snatched a toy from a kid's hand. He should not be making such statements and needs to show some grace. He should consider doing commentary now,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ramiz Raja has gone on to express his disappointment in public post his ouster. In fact, during a recent interaction on his official YouTube channel, the cricketer-turned-broadcaster has claimed that the new board members are only there for vested interests and have no interest in working towards the betterment of Pakistan cricket.

While Pakistan miserably failed to register a single home Test series win under Raja’s tenure, they were really good in T20Is and made the finals of the Asia Cup 2022 and the T20 World Cup 2022 where they went down to Sri Lanka and England respectively.
