Social media goes into frenzy after picture of Sourav Ganguly and MS Dhoni chatting goes viral

Sourav Ganguly and MS Dhoni are one of the most successful captains, India has ever produced. Indian cricket started to grow under their captaincy and achieved new heights. Ganguly brought the golden generation which saw them conquer the Australian team in India. Meanwhile, under the leadership of Dhoni, India won all the possible ICC trophies.

Interestingly, a photo of former Indian captains, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sourav Ganguly chatting with each other has gone viral. "When the Prince met the Super King!" Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captioned the image. Though, there is no indication as to why the former captains met or whether the photo was clicked for an advertisement shoot.

Ganguly reportedly became the director of cricket for the Delhi Capitals franchise after his stint as the BCCI President, came to an end in 2022. During the 2019 IPL season, the left-handed batter served as the advisor for the Delhi team, however, he later quit the position after being elected as the BCCI supremo. In October 2022, Roger Binny, the former cricketer for India took over the coveted position.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, on the other hand, looks all set for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. Notably, Dhoni will be leading the side once again, after taking over the reigns from Ravindra Jadeja, who had left the role in the middle of IPL 2022.

It is worth mentioning that Mahi has led the franchise to Semi finals round as a captain for a record 11 times out of 12 appearances in  the IPL. Moreover, out of 11 times, on 9 occasions CSK have been the finalists which no other skipper has achieved. In totality, Dhoni has lifted the IPL trophy on four occasions till now.

Even though Chennai Super Kings finished at the ninth spot last year which was not expected going by track record so far in the tournament. it will be interesting to see if Dhoni can weave his magic once again and get them back to the top just like he has done before.
