Sri Lanka will host Afghanistan for a three match-ODI series starting from on November 25 at the Pallekele Stadium. Both the teams have played against each other on quite a few occasions in recent times, especially in the T20 format.
Sri Lanka has managed to re-establish their strong presence in the cricketing world with the Asia Cup victory and they had decent results going their way in the T20 World Cup 2022. However, consistency has been an issue for the Dasun Shanaka-led side and their immediate goal would be focus on that.
On the other hand, Afghanistan have endured a tough period since the Asia Cup 2022 despite having some of the best match-winners in the shortest format at the moment. The likes of Rahmanullah Gurbaz need to step up at the top for the Afghan side if they want to challenge Sri Lanka.
