All eyes have now shifted to the game between the two giant cricketing nations as Australia takes on India at Beausejour Stadium in Saint Lucia on Monday. India have been on the hunt to take their revenge for the World Test Championship final and the ODI World Cup final loss in 2023. They would be hoping that the change in a year can help them knock Australia out of the tournament with a win tomorrow.

India are still unbeaten in the tournament with five wins and one no-result and possesses a world-class squad on paper. On the other hand, Australia are coming into the game on the back of a heartbreaking defeat against Afghanistan, which has put their qualification hopes to a serious halt.

Even if Australia wins tomorrow, that would not secure them a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament. They would need Bangladesh to beat Afghanistan or Afghanistan to win by a small margin so that they can qualify based on NRR. But India is certainly standing in the way of their qualification hopes and getting a win against them is not going to be an easy task at all for Mitchell Marsh and his team.

Is rain set to affect Australia-India game tomorrow in Saint Lucia?

However, there have been rumours of potential rains that might affect the game to a certain extent, so let’s take a look at the weather report before the game between India and Australia. The match is set to take place at Gros Islet in Saint Lucia and the game is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. local time (8 P.M IST). There is a 15% chance of rain on 24th June 2024 in Saint Lucia but only a mere 5% chance of thunderstorms and rain during match time. It is expected that the contest may be interrupted for a short while and a passing shower can grace the teams during that time.

During the match between India and Australia, it started raining after 4.1 overs with India at 43/1. Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant are on the field. India skipper smashed Michell Starch for 29 runs with 4 sixes and one four. After a few minutes, the covers are coming out and it would be exciting to see the skipper's game against the Australian bowlers.

Taking the worst possible scenario in mind, if somehow the game between India and Australia ends up being a washout, then even a small margin of victory would be enough for Afghanistan to make it into the playoffs of the T20 World Cup 2024. Therefore, the Australian team would be hoping that the rain gods stay away during the match time and they can have a sure shot at getting the win against India tomorrow.
