Disney Star, the official broadcaster for the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024, recently revealed its viewership for the first 22 days of the coveted tournament. The numbers suggest that all the past viewership records have been broken, as nearly 45 crore people tuned in to watch the cricketing extravaganza for the first three weeks of the cricketing extravaganza.
According to Broadcasting Audience Research Council (BARC), Disney Star registered a cumulative reach of 44.8 crore viewers for the aforesaid period. The watch-time for the period remained at a staggering 18,800 crore minutes. Moreover, the cumulative reach for the live broadcast has grown 8% compared to the last season, with match ratings (TVR) growing by 15%.
The highly anticipated and thrilling rivalry showdown clash between MI and RCB on April 11th drew an impressive audience of 14.75 crore viewers on television, who watched a total of 1,017 crore minutes of IPL coverage on the Disney Star Network.

As the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup approaches, the ongoing TATA IPL is providing a prime opportunity for viewers and India’s squad selectors to closely evaluate players’ performances, especially focusing on openers, all-rounders, and wicketkeepers.
Notably, 35 crore viewers had already tuned in to watch the seventeenth edition of the Indian Premier League for the course of first ten matches. The broadcaster had presumed the number of viewers to skyrocket, especially during April 8-April 14, which saw arch-rivals square off in the cash-rich league.
