While the Indian team are entangled in an intriguing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against the Aussies, veteran Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan sat with The Lallantop's Saurabh Dwivedi for an exclusive interview. During his talk with the renowned journalist, the southpaw shed light on the differences between playing under MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma.

Veteran Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan made his ODI debut under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni in 2010. Since then, he has played under former Indian skipper Virat Kohli and current all-format skipper Rohit Sharma for the Indian team.

When asked about the differences between playing under all three Indian captains, the 37-year-old stated it was a unique experience under each of them as they are different characters. He explained that Dhoni was more calm and quiet in comparison to Kohli, who was more aggressive as a captain.

"They are all different characters. Dhoni bhai is very calm and composed, he used to back me, support me, and in fact, all of them supported me. His style was different. Virat was an aggressive captain, he plays with aggression too, it is his character," Dhawan said in the exclusive interview.

Dhoni bhai had a calm personality: Shikhar Dhawan

Catching on Dhawan's 'agressive captain' remark, Saurabh Dwivedi enquired about the term. He asked the southpaw how is a captain aggressive. Are they aggressive with their briefs, their field placements, or their feedback and remarks on a player's performance?

Dhawan answered the query, saying that each cricketer has their own personality, and it was Kohli's personality to be aggressive, which was visible with his batting as well. But someone like Dhoni had a calm personality, which came out during his captaincy. He stated that it's the personality of the individual which comes out to the fore in pressure situations.

"I think it is more about personality. Like Dhoni bhai had a calm personality, which was reflected in his captaincy. It's a pressure game, and in pressure situations, your personality comes out," Dhawan added.
