Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are once again having a disastrous season in the Indian Premier League having won just one out of the first four matches of IPL 2024 so far. The Faf du Plessis-led side started their campaign with a six-wicket loss against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) but later made a good comeback by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by four wickets in their second fixture.

However, the Bengaluru-based team failed to continue their winning momentum at their home ground, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, losing the next two matches against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). While most RCB fans are unhappy with their team’s condition so far, former India cricketer Atul Wassan is happy with the team’s dismal condition and want them to lose all the games and end at the bottom of the points table.

Notably, Wassan’s shocking statement stems from the anger towards star batter Virat Kohli who never brought his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma into the coaching staff of the franchise.

“I want RCB to lose all the matches and end at the bottom of the points table; Virat Kohli has been there in a setup since 2008, there've been a lot of coaches of RCB but he never took his coach [Rajukumar Sharma] to RCB, so that’s why I always want RCB to lose,” said Atul Wassan on India News.

Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer of IPL 2024

Meanwhile, despite RCB being on a losing spree in the ongoing season, Kohli has been enjoying a great run of form as he’s the leading run-scorer of the season so far. The 35-year-old has scored 316 runs from five innings at an average of 105.33 and a strike rate of 146.29 with one hundred and two fifties to his name.

The Delhi-born batter also registered the first hundred of the season with his magnificent knock of 113* (72) against Rajasthan Royals during Match 19 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Courtesy of his innings, RCB managed to post a total of 183/3 in their allotted 20 overs.
