A fan in attendance for the fourth Test between England and India at the Old Trafford in Manchester was asked to take off his Pakistan cricket team's jersey. The fan was visibly disappointed by the Lancashire Cricket's directive at him, and following one officer's argument from the association, another lady police officer joined in and explained why he needed to take the shirt off or get it changed.
The fan, however, refused to oblige to the instructions passed on to him by the ground staff and other officials present in the stands to ensure a smooth and steady conduct of the cricket match. Further details are currently awaited on whether the Pakistani fan was detained or allowed to watch the live action. A video of the incident is now doing the rounds on social media.

Speaking of the present, the current state of affairs between India and Pakistan have not been great - both on cricket and political terms. The Indian team hasn't travelled to their neighbouring country in decades for a cricket series or a tournament. The arch-rivals have currently agreed upon a neutral venue arrangement for multinational tournaments, where India vs Pakistan clash is always a showpiece event.
The two teams will next meet at the Asia Cup 2025, which will be played in T20I format. However, fans have already started raising questions ever since the announcement of the schedule. Following the heinous terror attacks in Pahalgam and the Operation Sindoor that took place shortly after, the Indians fans simply do not wish to have any form of cricketing ties with Pakistan due to all the patriotic sentiments attached.

ENG vs IND: Bumrah urged to play 5th Test despite workload
India draw, but bag away a moral victory
Coming back to the Old Trafford game, India managed to pull off an emphatic draw on the fifth day of the match as valiant batting efforts were on display from the likes of captain Shubman Gill, opener KL Rahul, and all-rounder duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar. Skipper Gill was happy with the way the batting unit performed when it mattered the most.
"Extremely pleased with the batting effort. Past couple of days we were put under tremendous pressure. It's all about taking the wicket out of the equation. Day 5 wicket, something is happening, every ball is kind of an event. Wanted to take it ball by ball and take the game as deep as possible, which is what we spoke about," the Indian captain Shubman Gill said at the post-match presentation.
