Why are Mitchell Marsh and Kuldeep Yadav not playing IPL 2024 Match 20 between MI vs DC?

The coveted IPL 2024 (Indian Premier League) travels to the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, as the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 20th match on Sunday, April 7. Both sides have had a subpar campaign in the tournament so far and will be keen on improving.

As both sides gear up to face each other, several changes have been made to the playing XI of both sides. Delhi Capitals take on the hosts in the absence of their two star players: all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and ace spinner, Kuldeep Yadav. Marsh was ruled out of the clash by DC director of cricket Sourav Ganguly recently.

Furthermore, Kuldeep is also missing the clash against MI once again due to a groin injury. As a replacement, Jhye Richardson has been named in Delhi Capitals’ squad, with Rasikh Salam sitting out the game and Lalit Yadav coming in his place. 

Naman Dhir, Kwena Maphaka, and Dewald Brevis miss out for Mumbai Indians

Speaking about Mumbai Indians, some good news follows the five-time champions as ace batter Suryakumar Yadav returns after injury, with the star replacing Naman Dhir in the lineup. Furthermore, Romario Shepherd makes it into the playing XI in place of youngster Kwena Maphaka. 

Furthermore, veteran Mohammad Nabi takes the place of South Africa’s Dewald Brevis. Hosting Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium, Hardik Pandya’s Mumbai Indians are in search of their first win of the season.
