'Going to give my all' - Shai Hope looking to make most of Test comeback

West Indies' white-ball skipper, Shai Hope has expressed that he is "happy to be back" in the Test team ahead of the three-match Test series against Australia. Hope, who last played a Test in 2021, also remarked that he was eager on making the most of the opportunity of representing West Indies. 

For the unversed, Hope had been approached by Cricket West Indies for the role of Test skipper after Kraigg Brathwaite had stepped down. However, Hope did not take the offer while citing workload management.

"Representing West Indies, they always give me a lot of joy and pride. I think that was the main focus, just being able to represent the region and bring my impact on the game and obviously the transfer of that inspiration back into the next generation. I'm happy to be back. It's not something I would say I was looking forward to in terms of, 'I have to play Test cricket again'. But if the opportunity came, I would always be willing to take it," stated Hope, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

Hope also shed light on his commitment to giving his all to whatever he intended on doing in terms of his cricketing journey.
