India clinched a brilliant victory in the fourth Test against England in Ranchi and now has a commanding 3-1 lead in the series. The series also witnessed the emergence of a new batting sensation, Yashasvi Jaiswal. With his consistency and capabilities with the bat, Jaiswal has registered his name in the history books of the game.

Jaiswal's rise in the series has been nothing short of spectacular. He equaled the illustrious record set by none other than Virat Kohli for the most runs scored in a single Test series against England, tallying an impressive 655 runs in just four Test matches.

Speaking on Jio Cinema during the fourth Test match in Ranchi, former Indian spinner, Anil Kumble, acknowledged Jaiswal's extraordinary contribution and praised the young cricketer for his efforts on the field. Kumble also lauded Jaiswal's control over his stroke-making, defensive skills, and situational awareness.

"Yashasvi Jaiswal will be very satisfied with the series that he has had. He has two more innings in Dharamsala, he will be satisfied with the performance that he has been able to churn, right from the first innings in Hyderabad," said Kumble.

"Generally, he has been in control of all his stroke-making, his defence, situational awareness, and cricketing mind that has come to effect in all his innings has been fantastic," Kumble added.

Kumble emphasized the significance of having a top-quality left-handed opener like Jaiswal in the team, a rarity for India in recent years.

"It's wonderful and augurs well for India. He is a left-handed opener and it has been a while since we have had that in the Indian team," the former leg spinner concluded.

Looking ahead to the final Test in Dharamshala, Jaiswal aims to target the coveted 700-run mark in a bilateral series. Additionally, he can also surpass the records held by Graham Gooch and Joe Root for the most runs scored in a single India vs England Test series.
