Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh took to Instagram to share the memories of a nostalgic knock when he hit a match-winning ODI century against England in Cuttack in 2017.

Yuvraj is arguably one of the greatest athletes the game has seen, and the kind of passion he played with was unparalleled. He was a key part of the Indian side in the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup when the team won the prestigious trophies.

He won the Player of the Tournament in the 2011 World Cup and rightly so because he was outstanding as an all-rounder and won games for India single-handedly with all-round performances throughout the tournament.

In January 2017, Yuvraj was again a key part of Indian camp, and showed his class once again to the whole world as to why he can be so dangerous. India was struggling having lost three quick wickets for barely a few runs in the 2nd of the three-match ODI series against England played in Cuttack.

With Yuvraj and MS Dhoni at the centre, they had to rebuild and take the side to a respectable total to remain strong in the competition.

Yuvraj today posted a throwback photo of the game with the caption, “Never give up”. The post has garnered plenty of love and affection from the fans already and they filled the comment section with a lot of praiseworthy comments for the southpaw and his match-winning innings.

Yuvraj scored 150 in 127 balls and his epic knock included twenty-one fours and three sixes. MS Dhoni was equally good as he got to his century to get the scoreboard moving from both the ends. After Yuvraj got out, he took the stride to take India to a big total. With the position that the duo bought the team in, India was able to win the game, as the English team fell short by 15 runs in the chase.

The innings in Cuttack was Yuvraj’s highest individual ODI score, which came towards the latter part of his career, and undoubtedly, it is one of the most important innings of all time for the southpaw. This innings is still afresh in the hearts of his fans and followers of the game.
