Team Australia will face Zimbabwe in the second ODI fixture to be played on August 31 (Wednesday). The Men in Yellow completed a resounding victory over the visiting team in the first match and will want to seal the series in the upcoming second encounter to be played at the Tony Ireland Stadium, Townsville.

Meanwhile, the home team has suffered a big blow as one of their star all-rounders Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the remaining matches against Zimbabwe owing to ankle soreness with wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis replacing the right-handed batter in the squad.

Talking about Zimbabwe, batters like Tadiwanashe Marumani and Wesley Madhevere, put on a solid batting performance for their side but they could not find much support from their teammates during the first match. The Men in Red star batter Sikandar Raza failed to put on a good batting display in the first ODI encounter and will want to make a strong comeback in the second ODI fixture.

Pitch and conditions

The wicket at the Tony Ireland Stadium is expected to be a good batting surface as was evident during the first ODI. However, the opening batters will need to see out th

new ball cautiously before playing their shots. The skipper winning the toss might want to bowl first.

Playing Combinations for AUS vs ZIM

Australia

With Mitchell Marsh ruled out of the series, team Australia might include finger spinner, Ashton Agar, into the XI. The left-arm spinner is quite excellent with the ball and can hit a few lusty blows with the bat as well. Apart from that, the home team might look to retain the same squad.

Probable XI: Aaron Finch (c), David Warner, Steve Smith, Alex Carey (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Cameron Green, Ashton Agar Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazelwood, Adam Zampa

Zimbabwe:

Senior batters like Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, and skipper Regis Chakabva will need to step up for their team and play a match-winning knock for the visiting side. Zimbabwe might want to retain the same playing XI for the second ODI encounter.

Probable XI: Innocent Kaia, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wesley Madhevere, Sean Williams, Sikandar Raza, Regis Chakabva (c & wk), Ryan Burl, Blessing Muzarabani, Brad Evans, Richard Ngarava, Victor Nyauchi
