On Saturday, April 22, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will face the reigning champions Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 30th match of the IPL 2023 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Both teams made debuts in the IPL 2022 season and faced off against each other twice, with the Titans winning both times.

When LSG take against GT, they will be seeking the top spot in the IPL 2023 points table. They have won four of their six matches and have eight points, and are currently placed second in the table. Notably, the KL Rahul-led side is coming off a thrilling win over the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur on April 19.

GT, on the other hand, come into the contest on the back of a heartbreaking loss against their opponents in the IPL 2022 final, RR, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. However, Hardik Pandya and Co. will be hoping to bounce back after suffering their second defeat of the season.

Lucknow Super Giants registered a 10-run win over Rajasthan Royals in their previous encounter. Notably, this was LSG's first win over the Royals in the cash-rich league. LSG opener Kyle Mayers shined with the bat as he scored his third half-century of the season. Avesh Khan picked three wickets for 25 runs in four overs, while Marcus Stoinis took two for 28 runs against RR.
