Rajasthan Royals (RR) will host Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Match 60 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium, in Jaipur, on Sunday, May 14. Both teams have faced off against each other 29 times, with Rajasthan winning 12 times and Bangalore have come out victorious on 14 occasions while three matches have ended in no result.
The Royals are currently placed in fourth place on the IPL 2023 points table, having won six of their 12 matches. RCB, on the other hand, are in the sixth spot of the points tally with 10 points and will aim to win to secure a spot in the playoffs.
The Sanju Samson-led side registered a sensational nine-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their previous clash at the Eden Gardens, in Kolkata, on May 11. Meanwhile, RCB are coming off two straight losses against Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI).
The Royals' growth have come to a halt in the last few weeks. They won their most recent match after three consecutive losses, putting them back in the playoff zone. Meanwhile, Faf du Plessis' RCB are on the verge of getting eliminated from the next stage should they fail to win this clash. When the Royals and Bangalore compete for a win in the high-octane clash in Jaipur, fans can expect a thrilling encounter.
Pitch and Conditions
Due to its slow surface, the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur generally favours bowlers. The pacers will most likely benefit from the first few overs of the innings. Since the ground has large boundaries, scoring runs here will be a difficult task. The team that wins the toss will most likely decide to bat first.
Probable Playing XI for RR vs RCB
Rajasthan Royals
RR have a massive win over KKR where their young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed his maiden IPL century and won the match for his team. The bowlers have also produced some promising displays with the ball. However, they are likely to come up with the same line-up as in the previous clash.
Probable Playing XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Joe Root, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Sandeep Sharma, KM Asif, Yuzvendra Chahal
Royal Challengers Bangalore
The RCB's top and middle orders are in very good shape. In bowling, Mohammed Siraj had a poor performance in his previous two matches and needed to bounce back as this match is critical for RCB to win and stay in the competition.
Probable Playing XI: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis (c), Mahipal Lomror, Glenn Maxwell, Suyash Prabhudessai, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Kedar Jadhav, Wanindu Hasaranga, Siddarth Kaul, Mohammed Siraj, Josh Hazlewood
