The Indian Premier League 2023 is in its final stages and the battle for the playoffs is still on as seven teams are in contention to finish in the top four. Continuing with the excitement in the T20 extravaganza Delhi Capitals will take on Chennai Super Kings on Saturday, May 20 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. CSK are coming into the fixture having lost their last game against Kolkata Knight Riders by six wickets.

On the other hand, DC are coming having won their previous encounter against Punjab Kings by 15 runs. CSK are ranked second on the IPL points table having 15 points with seven wins and a draw in 13 matches. They are eyeing to finish second in the league stage by winning against DC and get an added advantage of playing in Qualifier 2 if they lose Qualifier 1.

CSK have a better net run rate than LSG which gives them a better chance to finish above them who’re also having 15 points to their name with one game to go. After winning five out of the first seven games, the MS Dhoni-led side has won just two out of the last six. CSK need to win at all costs against DC or else their fate will depend on the result of MI and RCB’s last matches.

Meanwhile, Delhi have been knocked out of the tournament being ranked last(tenth) on the points table with five wins from 13 games. The David Warner-led side will look to salvage some pride by beating CSK in their last fixture and spoiling their party.

Pitch and Conditions

In the six matches played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium so far in the tournament, four have been won by teams batting second. Wickets in Delhi have been inconsistent as pointed out by DC captain David Warner recently. 180-plus totals have been scored in two matches at the venue and spinners have found great assistance from the track hence CSK spin attack will enjoy their time bowling at the wicket. Captains winning the toss will look to bowl first considering the past record of the venue.
