Following their comprehensive win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous game, Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are still in contention for a spot in the playoffs. On the other hand, defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) not only confirmed their playoff spot but also became the first to book their berth in the Qualifier 1.

Hardik Pandya and Co. are comfortably placed on top of the IPL Points Table with 18 points in 13 matches. On the flip side, the Men in Red and Gold are placed fourth on the ladder with 14 points in as many matches and have a Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.180.

Speaking about their head-to-head records in the top-tier league, the two franchises have met each other on two occasions wherein both side have won one each. On Sunday, May 21, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, the hosts will be gunning to confirm their place in the playoffs.
