The 71st game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will feature a clash between the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings and the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday, May 23. Notably, the clash is also the first playoff game of the ongoing season and the winner will go into the finals.

Chennai are coming into the game on the back of three wins in their last four matches. They finished the group stages of the competition in second place in the standings with 17 points in 14 matches. They won their last game against Delhi Capitals in a dominant fashion.
